DermaQuestâ„¢ Skin Therapy offers two products - Skin Vitalight and Skin Lightening
Serum - for treating hyperpigmentation. The difference between these two products
is the presence of glycolic and lactic acid in the Skin Lightening Serum. Which
product is appropriate depends on the client’s degree of sensitivity to glycolic
and lactic acid. Those sensitive to acids should use Skin Vitalight instead of Skin
Lightening Serum. Also, glycolic and lactic acid is contraindicated for use immediately
following certain professional treatments, such as peels. Skin Vitalight should
follow these services and Skin Lightening Serum resumed shortly thereafter, if indicated
in the home care program.
Skin Vitalight
This herbal cream is suitable for all skin types. It is formulated with a combination
of herbal extracts for natural lightening (bearberry extract, emblica, mulberry
extract, algae extract), kojic dipalmitate and the melanostatine-5 peptide which
attacks hyperpigmentation by inhibiting the reactions that lead to melanin synthesis.
They lighten and brighten dark spots and even skin tone. This product is also formulated
to moisturize and prevent free radical damage from environmental exposure.
Skin Lightening Serum
This serum combines the benefits of glycolic acid, lactic acid, ascorbic acid, azelaic
acid, kojic acid and emblica. It also includes the melanocyte suppressing peptide,
melanostatine-5, and is suitable for all skin types. Treatment is effective through
preventing melanin synthesis, deactivating the melanocyte, and preventing the erythema
that triggers the chain of reaction leading to the production of melanin. After
applying this product, the skin is smooth, silky, and ready to receive other topical
applications.
