The DermaQuest™ Skin Therapy products are designed according to our application philosophy
of “thin-to-thick.” Products are applied in order of increasing thickness. For example,
dermal care products will be a serum, or “thin” products. These products are to
be applied first in the post-cleansing regimen so that no barriers prevent them
from reaching the target treatment area. Clients can determine the application order
of products by checking their viscosity (thickness). The thinnest product in the
regimen, the Advanced B5 Serum or Peptide Mobilizer, is applied first, post-cleanse.
For example, consider our Balancing Kit. The order of application (thin-to-thick)
is Advanced B5 Serum, followed by Collagen Activating Complex, then Daily Antioxidant
Serum, then Revive Cream, and finally, ZinClear SPF 30.
The first three products (post-cleanse) penetrate the dermal layer, while the Revive
Cream is an epidermal moisturizer, formulated to minimize trans epidermal water
loss (TEWL), thus enabling the skin to use as much of the moisture it produces as
possible, with ingredients to moisturize the epidermal cells. This product is also
formulated to allow the skin to use the formerly applied dermal products to its
maximum ability. Then, ZinClear’s epidermal hydrators moisturize through a barrier
system (holding moisture in the epidermis) and protect the skin from the sun by
reflecting of UV rays from the skin surface.
You can determine the order of a DermaQuest™ Skin Therapy product’s use in the home
care regimen by comparing its thickness to that of other products, applying thinner
products before thicker ones, post cleanse.
